Alex Bucko
Over the years, I learned how to support my body in the state that it was in, and gradually improve my health over time by harvesting the power of my body.

My name is Alex - it’s nice to e-meet you! Currently, I practice as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP). But how’d I get here…?
At 11, I had my first run-in with chronic illness, being diagnosed with mysterious stomach spasms that were labeled IBS, then IBD. I had over 30 chemical sensitivities, and missed >80% of the school year, but never really got a finite answer from western medicine. After we turned to Traditional Chinese Medicine and chiropractic care, I made a pretty profound recovery. Crazy!
About ten years later—after slowly trickling downhill over the four years prior—I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythmatosus (SLE) and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). After standard treatment continued to do me a little dirty, I set out on a quest to find alternative medicine, being grateful that it worked in the past. Come to find out, I had a slew of chronic infections (Lyme, a wrecked gut from >60 rounds of antibiotics), mold toxicity, hypermobility, some pretty unfavorable genetics, cavitations, heavy metal toxicity, extreme hypersensitivities to my environment, and an extremely dysregulated nervous system. At my worst, I was down to about 3 foods.
Over the years, I learned how to support my body in the state that it was in, and gradually improve my health over time by harvesting the power of my body (make my words, it’s capable of a lot!). Gradually—and I say, GRADUALLY—over many years I was able to slowly regain homeostasis, and learn how to support others throughout the process starting from similar states… and I’d love to help you do the same!
Over the years, I’ve done various trainings and have studied various modalities, from Traditional Chinese Medicine to genetics, epigenetics, and nutrigenomics, and spent time studying various diets, from veganism, to carnivore, keto, Atkins, macrobiotics, AIP, GAPS/SCD, and more. I am (currently) certified as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), Mineral Nutritional Balancing Practitioner (MNBP), Functional Supplement Specialist (FSS), and have trained in various other workshops, courses, and intensives.
Certifications and Licenses
I am currently pursuant of my Medical Doctorate (MD) and anticipate graduation in 2028 from the Medicinski Fakultet u Splitu.
Concurrently, I am also completing my Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition from Kansas State University, intending to finish in 2027. My hope is to explore my opportunities in research, combining the two sciences (and perhaps continuing my education…) while continuing to practice, seeing those with more complex and chronic cases at an extended capacity. I am also interested in internal and psychiatric disciplines of medicine, as I believe the body as a system and the nervous system are foundation for healing.
I see a wide variety of clients with similarly ‘chronic and complex’ backgrounds. This includes (but is not limited to):
- Hypermobility and Ehler’s Danlos
- Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)/ histamine intolerance
- Autoimmunity
- Thyroid disorders
- Adrenal disorders
- Hormone imbalance
- Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)
- Mood disorders
- Mold toxicity
- Chronic Lyme
- IBS, IBD, gut dysfunction
- Metabolic disturbances
- Pre/peri/postnatal, and more!
